ARTS 1303 Art History I (prehistoric to the 14th Century)

3 lec (3 Cr.) A chronological analysis of the historical and cultural contexts of the visual arts from prehistoric times to the 14th century. A lecture examines crafts, painting, sculpture, architecture, and other art forms from the prehistoric through Gothic time-frame. Emphasis is placed on how important historical developments through events and cultural exchange of thought result in artistic output. Textbook required. MINIMUM OF 3 TESTS. POSSIBLE OTHER WRITING REQUIREMENTS. SATISFIES VISUAL ARTS CORE REQUIREMENT.
